My Mother’s Greatest Gift To Me

Last July I was excitedly counting down days till my trip back home. I hadn’t seen my family for two years and I had plenty of things planned. But everything that could go wrong, went wrong. First, our new puppy died. My aunt passed away a few days later. Everyone in the family was sick with something or the other. Some had minor illnesses while some had serious problems. Later, my mother was taken to the hospital and had to have surgery.

Anyone would think that it would have been the worst possible trip. It wasn’t. In fact, it was one of the best times I ever had with my family and all because I received one of the most valuable gifts I ever got from my mother. The gift of laughter. Sure, everyone knows how to laughs. I think I have a pretty good sense of humor too…
